By now, you should know about the ground-breaking, fastest zoom lens EVER, the Sigma 18-35mm F1.8 DC HSM zoom lens.
Everybody’s interested with this lens and frankly, it deserves all the attention it gets, so I’ve collected the best reviews around the web for this lens and hopefully convince you to grab one as well, if you’re on an APS-C, mount-supported camera. Check these out!
Shockingly sharp images at all apertures, even at ƒ/1.8, with excellent flatness of field and good control over chromatic aberration, distortion and vignetting make this lens a no-brainer for users of APS-C cameras looking to upgrade from their kit lens.

Another factor making the relatively short focal length range more palatable is the image quality this lens delivers. Especially at f/1.8 where this lens delivers very good sharpness across the entire frame. Sharpness is slightly better at the wide end than the long end, but f/1.8 real life images from both ends look good.
The great image quality seals the deal for the Sigma 18-35mm f/1.8 DC HSM Art Lens. The results that this lens is capable of delivering are impressive.
DPREVIEW is just as impressed, but pointed out a traditional Sigma issue, it’s auto-focus, stating:
Its relatively narrow zoom range is undeniably a little restrictive, but on the other hand, the image quality it can offer over that range is absolutely stellar. It’s let down a little by inconsistent autofocus, which makes it difficult to get consistently sharp results every time when shooting wide open.
The big question is ‘Should I Buy This’ and that is somewhat of a tough question. Is it worth it? Absolutely the Sigma 18-35mm f1.8 is worth every penny bringing top of the line build quality, amazingly wide apertures, zoom abilities, and fast autofocus for only $799.
A quick chart showing how the Sigma 18-35mm f/1.8 lens is the best zoom lens tested according to their charts. Check out the report here.
What can be written in the summary of this chapter? Perhaps only this: never in our wildest dreams had we thought that the resolution results of this lens would be so sensational.
