A High-End Compact Retro-Looking Fuji X10 Digital Camera
What an exciting announcement made today The Fuji X10 is born! Fujifilm continues its exciting line of high-end, retro cameras with their “X” line. Following the tremendous success and reception of the Fujifilm X100, Fuji releases a point-and-shoot version that copies the same successful attributes such a classic rangefinder design, manual dials and controls, high quality optics, and more. The Fuji X10 is bound to sell like hotcakes once again.
More importantly, the Fuji X10 ticks all the right boxes for a premium, advanced point-and-shoot camera for enthusiasts:
- Fast f/2.0-f/2.8 zoom lens covering 28-112mm equivalent (4x optical zoom) with 7-blade aperture construction
- Optical viewfinder with auto-magnification function
- 2/3″ 12MP Fuji EXR sensor
- Full video support (1080p HD) with stereo microphones
- Full manual control
- AF/MF switching
- Optical image stabilization
- 49-point Matrix AF system
- RAW image capture.
The Fuji X10’s build quality retains the high standards of the Fuji X100, with a magnesium alloy body all-throughout. Estimated street price of $599, which is just right for this niche market, in my opinion

Here’s a video of the Fuji X10 by the Fuji Guys to show you all the features and hands-on preview.
And another video to showcase the Fuji X10 camera.
I think the premium point-and-shoot market can no longer be dominated by the Canon G series and the Panasonic LX series. Olympus XZ-1 and this amazingly beautiful Fuji X10 takes the market another step higher and photographers like us are finally having great choices for our compact advanced point-and-shoot camera.
Stay tuned to David’s Simple Photography for a future review as I’m already itching to buy the Fuji X10 as I’ve been looking for a capable and stylish compact for quite sometime and I’ll make sure I’ll post a review as soon as the Fuji X10 becomes available here in Singapore.
