Fujifilm X-Pro 1 Interchangeable Lens Variant Of The Popular Fuji X100

Interchangeable Lenses with the Fuji X-Pro 1

Just as many anticipated after the original Fujifilm X100 launch, despite the X100’s resounding success as a niche camera, many expected an interchangeable lens version of this mirrorless beauty to come out soon after, and the Fuji X-Pro 1 is born.

The Fuji X-Pro 1  features an all-new X-TransTM CMOSTM sensor and EXR Processor Pro. The sensor uses random pixel arrangement (compared to the grid-pattern of most camera RGB sensors) so no-AA filter is required to eliminate moiré and false colors, so expect sharper images right-off-the-bat to maximize that 16MP sensor.

Fujinon Lenses for the X-Pro 1

Three Fujinon lenses were announced with the Fuji X-Pro 1 namely: Fujinon XF lenses: the XF 18mm F2 R, XF 35mm F1.4 R, and XF 60mm F2.4 R Macro. Each of these lenses are optimized for the Fuji X-mount that features a really shallow flange to minimize the distance between sensor and rear of the lens.

With such a shallow lens mount, you can pretty much be assured that with the right adapter, you can use virtually any lens on the Fuji X-Pro 1, including Leica M-lenses.

More Fuji X-Pro 1 Features

The Fuji X-Pro 1 retains the excellent and ground-breaking Hybrid Multi Viewfinder from the X100, sensor cleaning via ultra-sonic vibration, full HD with stereo audio recording and a whole range of dedicated accessories for the camera and lenses.

The Fuji X-Pro 1’s Hybrid Multi Viewfinder can change it’s field-of-view as you change lenses. Just as before on the X100, you can choose between the optical viewfider or the 1.4MP electronic viewfinder with a flick of a switch, but with the ability to change field-of-view according to focal length, the accuracy of the optical viewfinder guideline increases and there will be no need to rely on parallax estimation adjustments.

The main LCD display features a 1.23 MP resolution, which is quite a bit of resolution compared to the current standard of 921K resolution in most LCD displays including those in DSLRs.

Fuji also improved the film simulation modes to continue their quest to win over traditional film buffs and rangefinder fanatics.

Estimated MSRP at $1700 for the body. Lenses start at $650 onwards.
